Dodik on deportations from the U.S.

The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that hardened Islamists who may be deported from the U.S. to Bosnia and Herzegovina will not be placed in prisons in Republika Srpska.

Dodik mentioned that the U.S. is expected to deport more than 140 individuals to BiH and expressed hope that there are not many former Guantanamo detainees among them, as they are considered hardened Islamists.

“We must ensure that those who have been imprisoned anywhere in America due to this ideology and political Islam cannot be placed in prisons in Republika Srpska. Let them take them to their own prisons, not ours,” Dodik emphasized.

He also noted that deportations were previously announced by former U.S. President Donald Trump and that he supports such a measure.
