Constructive cooperation between the Government of Srpska and the World Bank

The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, met today in Banja Luka with Christopher Sheldon, the Head of the World Bank Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to discuss cooperation on projects jointly implemented by the Government of Republika Srpska and this financial institution.

Both sides emphasized the constructive and successful collaboration between the World Bank and the Government of Republika Srpska so far. It was noted that, after all the necessary conditions were met, the World Bank approved funds for two priority projects – the construction of the Foča–Šćepan Polje road section and a project aimed at improving healthcare services in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting also addressed other ongoing and planned projects, with a particular focus on the World Bank’s support for the development of a social welfare registry in Republika Srpska, as well as assistance for the introduction of solar panels in households.

Additionally, discussions covered the World Bank’s support for agricultural development, improving the efficiency of public enterprises, and other projects the institution plans to implement in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Finance Zora Vidović and Minister of Health and Social Protection Alen Šeranić.
