The Serb member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, met today with the newly appointed EUFOR commander, Major General Florin-Marian Barbu, in her office.
During Major General Barbu’s inaugural visit, the two officials exchanged views on the current political and security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Cvijanović emphasized that the security situation in the country remains stable and that all current challenges are purely political in nature. She described certain statements by domestic politicians about an allegedly endangered security situation in BiH as unfounded and irresponsible.
She wished the new EUFOR commander success in his mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed hope that EUFOR would continue its good cooperation with relevant institutions at all levels of government.
