Thirty Belarusian tractors distributed to farmers in Republika Srpska

Republika Srpska has successfully completed its tractor procurement project for young farmers, implemented in cooperation with Belarus. Out of a total of 161 “Belarus” tractors, the final 30 were handed over today in Bijeljina. The procurement was organized under favorable conditions and lower prices, with the project supported by a €5 million fund.

This initiative, agreed upon by the President of Republika Srpska and Belarusian officials, has now been fully realized. As part of the “The Village of Republika Srpska – My Place for Life” project, Belarusian tractors were allocated to young agro-entrepreneurs, including Milko Škorić from Bijeljina and Nemanja Kos from Kozarska Dubica.

“I am very satisfied with this program because it primarily supports young people engaged in agriculture. My family has five members, we cultivate 500 dunums of land, and we also run a small dairy farm,” said Milko Škorić from Novi village.

Similarly, Nemanja Kos noted that his father had been engaged in cattle farming for 40 years, and he has continued the family tradition.

“I am pleased with this program because it is a unique opportunity to acquire new equipment at extremely affordable prices,” Kos emphasized.

Tractors at reduced prices for young farmers

Farmers in Republika Srpska under the age of 40 were able to purchase tractors at significantly lower prices, as the Government of Republika Srpska covered 60% of the cost in partnership with the Belarusian manufacturer and supplier.

“A total of 161 tractors were allocated to farmers under 40 years old. Among them, seven are agricultural engineers, and more than 30 tractors went to families with three or more children. This has been one of the most effective measures to ensure that people stay in Republika Srpska and secure a sustainable livelihood,” stated Savo Minić, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management of Republika Srpska.

Reliable agricultural machinery

Experts highlight that these Belarusian tractors are highly reliable and cost-effective.

“One of their key advantages is the availability of affordable spare parts, which can be easily obtained in our region,” industry specialists noted.
