Milutin Popović, President of the Volleyball Federation of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been elected president of the Balkan Volleyball Association (BVA) during the General Assembly held today in Tirana.
This prestigious appointment marks a significant achievement not only for Popović but also for volleyball in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year, he also received a lifetime achievement award on the occasion of the centenary of volleyball in Serbia. Yorgos Karabetsos, president of the Hellenic Volleyball Federation, was elected vice president of the BVA.
Popović’s election is attributed to his long-standing contributions to the development of volleyball in the region. His dedication and vision for advancing the sport have been recognized locally and internationally.
As the president of the Volleyball Federation of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Popović has played a pivotal role in infrastructure development, organizing competitions, and promoting volleyball. Under his leadership, volleyball in Republika Srpska has experienced significant progress, with improved training conditions, numerous tournaments, and strengthened cooperation with international organizations.
The Balkan Volleyball Association brings together regional countries to enhance the sport through competition, coach education, and talent development. Popović’s leadership presents an opportunity to apply his experience and expertise to the broader regional stage.
