The president of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Republika Srpska, Rajko Kuzmanović, stated that the latest US sanctions targeting individuals from Republika Srpska represent a blow to democracy worldwide.
Kuzmanović emphasized that while some see the United States as a savior, others perceive it differently, as a nation positioning itself as the protector of global assets.
- “I must say this is the ultimate blow to democracy, as it imposes sanctions on individuals engaged in science, technology, and modern advancements,” Kuzmanović stated.
He affirmed his commitment to continuing his longstanding work.
- “We move forward, toward the development of a positive society, toward the protection of Republika Srpska and its dignity,” Kuzmanović stressed.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury announced that it sanctioned eight individuals involved in organizing the celebration of Republika Srpska Day on January 9.
