What to Expect at “Days of Winter on Kozara 2025”

The Prijedor Tourism Organization, under the patronage of the City of Prijedor, will host the 18th annual “Days of Winter on Kozara” event, showcasing Mount Kozara, Kozara National Park, hunting associations, sports clubs, mountaineering groups, ski clubs, and other tourism stakeholders in the area.

This event offers a unique opportunity to promote cultural and tourism heritage, preserve traditions and customs, and encourage the development of winter tourism in the region.

Program Highlights

The program includes a variety of activities, such as a ski competition, a mountaineering march, sports games, and a cooking competition, among others.

Mountaineering March

On Saturday, February 1, 2025, nature enthusiasts, adventurers, and winter magic lovers are invited to join the traditional mountaineering march organized by the Albatros Mountaineering Club from Prijedor. The 9-kilometer route will traverse Rajkovići, Kozarački Kamen, Bešića Poljana, and Mrakovica, ending with a communal lunch for participants.

Ski Cup

If weather permits, the Ljubijski Rudar Ski and Mountaineering Society will organize a ski cup on February 1, featuring three categories:

  • High School (boys and girls)
  • Upper Primary School (boys and girls)
  • Lower Primary School (boys and girls)

Winners will receive trophies, medals, and sponsor gifts, making this an excellent opportunity to promote winter sports, skill development, and a healthy lifestyle among children.

Central Program

On Sunday, February 2, 2025, the central program begins at 11:00 AM and includes:

  • Sports competitions among municipalities and cities in the Potkozarje region and surrounding areas.
  • Gastro competitions in three categories:
    • Hospitality and tourism schools from Republika Srpska
    • Hunting associations from Potkozarje
    • Scout troops and mountaineering groups

The event will feature a cultural and entertainment program, including performances by folk music groups, providing an authentic experience of local traditions and culture.

Free Transportation and More

To ensure accessibility, free transportation will be provided from Prijedor, Kozarska Dubica, Novi Grad, Kostajnica, and Gradiška to the event site.
