The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated today that the outgoing U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Michael Murphy, has once again demonstrated a one-sided, biased, and politically charged approach to interpreting the realities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dodik emphasized that Murphy’s statements about alleged multiethnicity are nothing more than an attempt to impose artificial narratives that lack a basis in reality and have been used for decades as a means of pressure against the Serb people and Republika Srpska.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country of two entities and three constituent and equal peoples, not a country of ethnic groups,” Dodik wrote on the social media platform X.
“Serbs, Croats, and Bosniaks are peoples with historical and national foundations. Therefore, BiH is a multinational country, not a multiethnic one,” he added.
Dodik called Murphy’s narrative on multiethnicity a lie, a manipulation, and an insult.
“Reducing peoples to the level of ethnic groups is a historical falsification and a humiliation,” Dodik said.
He noted that even former German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke of a Europe of sovereign peoples and states, affirming the failure of the multiethnic concept.
“Fortunately, the time of Michael Murphy and those like him is passing. Murphy is already irrelevant—a symbol of past times, a politics of imposition, and hypocritical standards. A better era is coming for Republika Srpska, one where geopolitics will be grounded in reality, respect for national interests, and historical rights—a world in which there is no place for Murphy,” Dodik declared.
He stressed that Republika Srpska continues to develop on the foundations of family and Christian values, the same values upon which the Western world was built and strengthened.
“Fortunately, people like Murphy have not succeeded in destroying these values,” Dodik concluded.
