BSK begins preparations for the second half of the season

Under the leadership of Branislav Krunić and his coaching team, the players of BSK have started preparations for the second half of the season. The team, affectionately nicknamed “The Romantics,” aims to continue developing young talents while maintaining a top position in the league standings.

After an introductory meeting in the trophy hall at the City Stadium, the team held its first training session on the auxiliary field. BSK had a challenging start to the season, earning just two points in the first six matches and sitting at the bottom of the table. However, a turnaround came with the arrival of Branislav Krunić from Željezničar Sport Team. Under his guidance, the team achieved nine wins and two losses in the remaining 11 matches, finishing the autumn season in fifth place with 31 points.

“The potential of this young team was evident, but some things needed to be adjusted. Everything quickly fell into place, and we had a fantastic finish to the autumn season,” said Krunić.

Youth development and ambitions for the season

Despite being nine points behind the autumn champions, Laktaši, Krunić emphasized the team’s focus on youth development.

“We’re not overly concerned about our rivals. Our goal remains to nurture young players and guide them toward Borac. However, if an opportunity arises, we won’t shy away from competing for the highest placements. The squad from the first half of the season remains intact, and we don’t plan to bring in experienced reinforcements. Any new arrivals will be young players looking to prove themselves and progress,” Krunić noted.

He added that BSK serves as a springboard for young talents aiming to reach Borac and beyond.

Training plan and friendly matches

The team plans to conduct most of their training sessions on the auxiliary field of the City Stadium. If weather conditions are unfavorable, they will train indoors and in gyms. BSK has scheduled six friendly matches:

  • January 20: Against Borac
  • January 25: Against Omarska, the autumn champions of the Second League of Republika Srpska (West group)
  • February 1: Against Ljubić from Prnjavor
  • February 8: Against Laktaši
  • February 15: Against Rudar Prijedor
  • February 22: Final pre-season match against second-league team Brdo from Hambarine

First match of the spring season

BSK will host Željezničar Sport Team on March 1, marking the start of the second half of the season. This match will provide Krunić with the opportunity to face his former club, where he began the season as head coach.

“I have fond memories of my time with Željezničar, as I spent most of my coaching career at ‘Predgrađe.’ However, there’s no room for sentimentality on the pitch, and I expect us to start the spring part of the season with a victory,” Krunić concluded.
