The president of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, stated that the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers, Elmedin Konaković, is working to bring Bosnia and Herzegovina into a phase of conflict and instability.
Regarding the initiative to dismiss Konaković, Stevandić remarked that both Konaković and the Minister of Defense, Zukan Helez, are contributing to future interethnic and regional conflicts, destabilizing the region.
“They are in conflict with Serbia, Croatia, and their presidents. It is evident that these individuals lack the capacity to achieve meaningful progress,” said Stevandić.
He added that if Bosnia and Herzegovina depended on Konaković and Helez, the Bosniak population would face hardships, highlighting their inability to contribute to economic activities. He pointed out that BiH heavily relies on gas imports from Serbia and goods from Serbia and Croatia.
“BiH is most dependent on its neighbors, Serbs and Croats, yet displays the greatest animosity toward them. This is an entirely irrational policy that ultimately harms the Bosniaks themselves,” Stevandić concluded.
Responding to calls from the Mothers of Srebrenica association for the BiH Prosecutor’s Office to initiate proceedings against him for allegedly undermining the constitutional order by organizing the celebration of Republika Srpska Day, Stevandić dismissed the accusations.
“The hysteria surrounding the January 9 celebration lasts for two days every year. I believe it is better not to spread hatred but to show that we celebrate peace, not war. January 9 is a holiday of peace, whereas March 1 is a holiday of war. Let them focus on their war holidays, not ours,” emphasized Stevandić.
