Trump’s anti-globalist agenda aligns with Serbia and Republika Srpska

Political analyst Obrad Kešić has stated that initiating a strategic dialogue between Serbia and the United States is a significant moment to continue the level of cooperation the two countries enjoyed towards the end of Donald Trump’s first term as U.S. president, when Serbia was the most important American partner in the Western Balkans.

Kešić emphasized the importance of demonstrating that Serbia is the most reliable partner in the agenda defined by the new U.S. president, Donald Trump. He added that this agenda, which is anti-globalist, aligns perfectly not only with Serbia but also with Republika Srpska and the Serb people.

“The sooner communication is established with the new U.S. administration and the sooner serious cooperation begins, the better it will be for Serbia and Serbs,” Kešić said to Kosovo Online.

Recalling that the new U.S. administration’s agenda focuses on addressing internal issues, Kešić pointed out that many of these issues are interconnected with relations with other countries.

He noted that regions not central to U.S. interests or vital concerns may remain in the background, with the Western Balkans being one such region.

“For this reason, it is crucial for Serbia to establish contact at the highest possible level and strive to position itself—primarily concerning negotiations with Priština—but also to reaffirm itself as the most reliable U.S. partner in the Western Balkans,” Kešić concluded.
