Historian Predrag Lozo stated that Republika Srpska must not succumb to pressures and that the Serb people must remain aware of the importance of preserving and defending the Republic.
“Every attempt to undermine Republika Srpska, coming from Sarajevo, the Federation of BiH, and the West, should serve as a motivation for us to defend it even more vigorously, primarily by relying on historical facts,” Lozo said on RTRS’s Open Program.
He emphasized that “the enemies of Republika Srpska and the Serb people, who harshly remind us that their intent is to erase us from this region, actually provide us with the drive to fight every day for Republika Srpska.”
“The most important thing is to fight for a state that represents freedom for us, and Republika Srpska is our freedom, the expression of our centuries-old cultural and national identity. When they try to deny us our patron saint’s day and Republic Day, it only shows us that we must not falter under such pressures,” Lozo said.
Lozo also remarked that during the 1990s, the Serb people in BiH were acutely aware of their heritage, their existence, and their vulnerability. He added that they made every effort to maintain peace in BiH until the very last moments, which is a historical fact that no one can change.
