Pavlović: International law supports Republika Srpska

Dušan Pavlović, Director of the Center for Socio-Political Research of Republika Srpska, emphasized that Republika Srpska’s political leadership is fully aware of the current moment and committed to preserving international law, which is entirely on their side.

  • Our political elites are aware of today’s circumstances, and we know that international law fully supports us. That is why we are making every effort to protect it. We are building our policies on these principles – Pavlović stated while appearing on RTRS morning program.

Reactions from Republika Srpska continue to pour in following Christian Schmidt’s decision to annul the conclusions of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS), adopted during a special session on December 24 and 25, through a statement posted on the OHR’s website.

  • This is merely a continuation of Republika Srpska’s decades-long fight to uphold the Dayton Peace Agreement, which is an international legal treaty. As such, Republika Srpska is obligated to defend it. You can ask any legal expert from any part of the world, and they will confirm that there isn’t a single comma in the NSRS conclusions that is legally questionable – Pavlović asserted.

Pavlović reiterated that it has been legally proven multiple times that Christian Schmidt does not hold a United Nations mandate.

  • Therefore, the only mandate he possesses is a German diplomatic passport. Bosnia and Herzegovina is occupied by countries supporting such policies—Germany, the United States, and their satellite states. Everything happening today has its historical context. It is widely known that German media have fully exposed Christian Schmidt’s ties to Nazi structures. It must be understood that Germany sent such a man to a region where they committed genocide during World War II, which clearly shows that nothing has changed since that time. He views not only Serbs but all nations in the region as inferior races compared to himself and the Germans – Pavlović emphasized.

He described the ongoing trial of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and acting director of the Official Gazette Miloš Lukić as political persecution.

This is a classic case of political persecution and a violation of internationally guaranteed rights for the entire Serb nation, Pavlović stated.

He stressed the significance of Republika Srpska Day, celebrated on January 9, for all residents of Srpska.

  • Freedom is earned, not given. We managed to defend ourselves from great powers, including NATO. We can truly say that, at that time, we had only God in heaven and ourselves on earth. January 9 reaffirms our political continuity in this region. Without our identity, we cannot exist as a people, which is why this day must be preserved at all costs – Pavlović concluded.
