Dodik wins the first round against Schmidt, Murphy, and Uzunović

Dodik wins the first round against Schmidt, Murphy, and Uzunović

Political scientist Nenad Kecmanović has assessed that the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has won the first round of the match against the U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Michael Murphy, the self-proclaimed High Representative Christian Schmidt, Judge Sena Uzunović, and Dr. Haris Vranić.

  • Convalescent Dodik has won the first round of the match against Murphy, Schmidt, Sena, and Haris, or the “shallow state” in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which stands behind the judicial process aimed at removing the President of Republika Srpska from office before the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump assumes his duties – Kecmanović stated.

Describing the sequence of events following Dodik’s discharge from the hospital after surgery in Belgrade and the medical evaluations conducted by Sarajevo doctors—first Vranić, who claimed that the President of Republika Srpska could appear in court just a week after being discharged, and later a six-member team, which granted Dodik a reprieve from court proceedings until January 29—Kecmanović expressed doubts about whether this gesture of goodwill and the extension of Dodik’s reprieve from one to six weeks was a product of “Muslim compassion” and “medical professionalism and ethics.”

  • Murphy and Schmidt, who are orchestrating events behind the scenes, are neither Muslims nor compassionate. However, while they rushed to conclude the court case against Dodik before Trump moves into the White House and starts major housekeeping at the State Department, Trump has already been courted by representatives of Amazon, Apple, Google, TikTok, and Netflix – Kecmanović wrote in an op-ed for Politika.

He emphasized that these companies are already listed alongside Elon Musk on Forbes’ list of billionaires, with Musk being a long-time supporter of Trump, enabling Trump to act freely even before his inauguration.

  • Biden’s diplomatic activists in Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with their domestic puppets, have lost the battle of timing. Dodik’s medical leave ends about ten days after Trump’s inauguration, and his lawyers, following the adjournment of the trial, which will last more than a month, have the right to request a retrial and continue to prolong the process – Kecmanović stated.

However, he cautioned that victory in one set does not guarantee that Dodik has won the match.

  • No one knows what Trump’s specific policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be, but everyone agrees that it will be more favorable for Republika Srpska than Biden’s. The echoes of the White House’s new policy will not quickly reach Bosnia’s remote Balkan periphery of the American empire. However, the new atmosphere is already spreading among potential winners and losers of the White House transition – Kecmanović observed.

He pointed out that there are shorter and faster connections through unofficial and informal personal contacts on the sidelines of major meetings, not only among friends but also among enemies.

  • They are surely thinking of (Russian President Vladimir) Putin and (Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor) Orbán, while I am thinking of Melania (Trump), shoes from Gradiška, the eternal mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković, and former Slovenian President Borut Pahor – Kecmanović noted.

He recalled that Pahor once proposed to Šefik Džaferović, Željko Komšić, and Milorad Dodik that they agree to a peaceful separation.

Kecmanović emphasized that consideration should also be given to the fact that Slovenia was the first, and possibly the only, post-communist country to obtain a visa-free regime with the United States.

  • The Slovenians could help, as they, the only ones in both Yugoslavias, were never Serbs – Kecmanović concluded.
