Unless there is a drastic change, or someone injects significant financial support, First League club Borac will likely withdraw from competition in the elite league of Republika Srpska, claims a member of the club’s management from the “Đolovi” stadium, who wished to remain anonymous.
“There is no point in hiding the truth. The club is in a very difficult situation, especially financially. Unless the municipality of Kozarska Dubica supports the club, Borac will certainly not remain in the First League this spring. However, it’s highly uncertain whether that will happen, as the municipality has so far provided only 2,000 marks annually, which is insufficient even for the lowest league. We expect to meet with Mayor Igor Savković before the start of preparations, where we will present everything to him. If the goal is to maintain a First League team, the funding from the municipal budget must be significantly increased,” the anonymous source stated.
