To celebrate Chinese New Year, the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka is organizing a contest titled “Lunar Creatives 2025: Design, Fashion, Photography,” aimed at young people aged 16 to 28.
According to the announcement, the goal of this competition is for young creatives and designers to use digital tools and applications to showcase their artistic interpretation of Chinese culture to a broader audience.
Participants are invited to combine Chinese tradition and culture with modern technological trends and submit their creative solutions in one of the following three categories:
- Creating digital GIF stickers or filters;
- Creative photography: Snake in an urban landscape (photographs taken with smartphones featuring urban landscapes or elements resembling a snake);
- Virtual fashion runway (designing virtual masks or fashion creations using applications).
All design solutions must incorporate Chinese symbols, snake motifs, or traditional colors—red and gold.
Applications for the contest should be sent to konfucijev.institut@unibl.org by January 20, 2025. The best works will be selected by a panel of experts and social media followers.
An exhibition of the top creative entries and the awarding of valuable prizes will take place on January 30, 2025, at 12 p.m. in the Student Cultural Center at the University of Banja Luka.
