Lidija Deduš awarded “Kočić’s Pen” for this autumn

Writer Lidija Deduš is the recipient of the “Kočić’s Pen” award for this autumn for her work “My Name is Lidija Deduš”, recognizing her outstanding achievements in contemporary literature and dedication to the beauty of Kočić’s thought and words, as unanimously decided by the jury.

Jury member, writer, and literary critic Miljenko Jergović emphasized that the book is unique and incomparable in its genre, stylistically exceptional, and capable of leaving a lasting impact on its readers, as stated by the “Petar Kočić Banja Luka-Belgrade” Foundation, which grants the award.

“A book of unbearable sorrow and crystal-clear joy of life, it is in every way worthy of Petar Kočić’s name and his eternal pen,” said Jergović.

The award will be ceremoniously presented to the laureate in the first half of January.

The book “My Name is Lidija Deduš” was published by the Belgrade publishing house “Buka.”

The president of the jury for the “Kočić’s Pen” award for autumn 2024 was Nikola Vukolić, with members Miljenko Jergović and Mladen Vesković.

Lidija Deduš was born in 1977 in Banja Luka and currently lives in Varaždin.

She is the author of several books of poetry, prose, and drama, writing and publishing in Croatia and the region. Her works have also been published and translated into foreign languages.
