Cvijanović sends condolences following attack in Germany

The Serb member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, sent a telegram of condolences to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Olaf Scholz regarding the attack at the Christmas market, emphasizing that there is no justification for violence and the killing of helpless people.

  • Please accept my sincere condolences following the horrific attack at the Christmas market in Magdeburg. I kindly ask you to convey my deepest sympathies to the families of the victims and my wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured – stated Cvijanović.

She emphasized that there is no justification for violence and the killing of innocent and helpless people and, therefore, strongly condemned this violent act, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

In the attack that occurred yesterday in the German city of Magdeburg, at least two people were killed, including one child.

An unnamed German official described the suspect as a doctor from Saudi Arabia who acted alone. At least 60 people were injured in the attack.
