As the holiday season approaches in the south of Republika Srpska, accommodation capacities are nearly fully booked. An open-air New Year’s Eve celebration is planned, with additional festive offers available in select hotels in Trebinje.
The arrival of December often marks the beginning of holiday planning, with many wondering where to celebrate. Freedom Square in Trebinje will host an open-air New Year’s Eve celebration, while many locals are expected to ring in the new year in nearby cities.
Traditionally, the southern Herzegovina region attracts tourists during the New Year and Christmas holidays, mostly from neighboring countries. According to the Tourist Organization, over 80% of accommodation capacities are already reserved for New Year’s Eve.
“If you check the ‘Booking’ platform now, you’ll see that there are fewer and fewer places available for dates around New Year’s, confirming that Trebinje is extremely popular during this time of year. A rich program is planned,” said Nikola Jokić, spokesperson for the Tourist Organization of Trebinje.
Hoteliers and hospitality providers are mostly offering organized celebrations with gala dinners, live music, and affordable package deals.
“This year, guests can expect great entertainment, delicious food, a wide selection of drinks, and fully booked capacities, as we introduced more affordable packages this year,” stated Branka Ilić, a hotel manager in Trebinje.
Neighboring cities are also organizing extensive celebrations, significantly contributing to the high occupancy rates in southern Srpska for the upcoming holidays.
