The Vice President of SNSD, Radovan Višković, stated in Mostar that Republika Srpska will never recognize the impositions of the Office of the High Representative (OHR).
- “For a country aspiring to become an equal member of the EU, it must eventually gain sovereignty, which includes the inalienable right to make its own decisions, rather than having foreign protectors do it for them. Our proposal was that from the moment negotiations are initiated, no one would be able to impose decisions anymore. This proposal was not accepted,” said Višković.
He added that the European Commission, in its latest comments, does not currently address the issue of the entity veto. However, this does not mean it will be ignored in the future, as it may eventually become a subject of a new law regulating the work of the State Aid Council and the Competition Council.
- “At this moment, during the reform period until 2027, the focus is on expertise rather than making decisions based on entity affiliation,” Višković explained.
