Concert of the police orchestra in Banja Luka

A ceremonial concert by the Police Orchestra of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska is currently underway in Banja Luka, held in honor of the patron saint’s day of the Ministry – Archangel Michael’s Day.

The head of the Police Orchestra, Jelena Atlagić, emphasized that the concert at the Banski Dvor Cultural Center serves as the culmination of a series of activities through which the Ministry marks its patron saint’s day.

“We have been holding this concert traditionally for the seventh time. Each one has been unique, well-attended, and received with numerous positive comments,” said Atlagić.

She highlighted her pride in everything accomplished over the past seven years since the orchestra’s establishment, considering they started from nothing.

The conductor of the Police Orchestra, Dušan Pokrajčić, stated that a new repertoire is prepared each year and that preparations take months.

“We start preparations as early as March. Along with a new repertoire, we always strive to bring new guests for the Banja Luka audience,” Pokrajčić noted.

Tonight’s concert at Banski Dvor was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan, the Director of the Police of Republika Srpska, Siniša Kostrešević, and representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia.

The Police Orchestra of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska was established on December 1, 2017, and had its first performance on the Day of Republika Srpska – January 9, 2018.
