The trial of the president of Republika Srpska and the acting director of the Official Gazette continues

Today, November 20, 2024, the trial of the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the Official Gazette of Republika Srpska, Miloš Lukić, continues at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They are charged with “disrespecting the decisions of High Representative Christian Schmidt.”

According to Goran Bubić, Dodik’s defense attorney, today’s hearing will include testimony from Professor of Constitutional Law Siniša Karan and legal advisor Slavko Mitrović, as well as the presentation of material evidence by the defense.

This trial has garnered significant public attention, with previous hearings marked by gatherings of Dodik’s supporters outside the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, chanting slogans and displaying banners of support.

It is worth noting that the indictment accuses Dodik and Lukić of failing to implement decisions issued by the High Representative, a case that has sparked numerous reactions and debates within the political circles of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The continuation of this trial is highly anticipated due to its potential impact on the political climate in the country.
