The Eastern bloc countries hold significantly larger territory and population. We must move towards a multipolar world, where two balanced sides hold the scales, and BRICS is moving in that direction, said Neven Đenadija, research associate at the Center for Socio-Political Research of Republika Srpska, during his appearance on the morning program of RTRS.
Đenadija was in Moscow last week, where he attended the International Scientific Symposium “Creating the Future” with 3,000 participants from over 100 countries, discussing ways of exchanging goods with countries under sanctions or those excluded from the international payment system.
“Countries of the Eastern bloc—led by Russia, China, India, and Iran—are crucial to global stability. A balance is always necessary. Not everything from the West is negative, which is exactly why we need a multipolar world. Without Russia, as well as Germany and France, the two strongest industrial nations in Europe, peace in Europe and the world is unattainable,” Đenadija emphasized.
The news of Donald Trump’s victory reached him while he was in Moscow.
“There was no euphoria, but Trump’s victory is certainly more favorable to Russians. Just the morning after, Peskov stated that regardless of who is president of the USA, that country will remain an adversary of Russia. What’s positive is that at least dialogue might become possible again, which has been completely lacking until now,” said Đenadija.
He sees a similar situation between the USA and our region.
“Our outlook isn’t far from Russia’s. This administration bombed us in 1995 and 1999. We may have made mistakes, but many others have too, yet they were not bombed as we were. America will likely turn inward to address its own domestic issues, which is beneficial for us because it gives us space to breathe and time to respond, considering how we have previously operated under constant pressure,” Đenadija added.
