Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election may lead to a relaxation of global relations, as his foreign policy will likely focus on realism and addressing internal issues facing America, guests on the “Second Angle” show observed.
Olga Ravasi, president and founder of the “Serbs for Trump” organization, said Trump’s victory is significant for the entire world, as he is a “president of peace” who will aim to cooperate with other nations.
Miloš Šolaja, professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Banja Luka, believes Trump won due to his policy focused on growth and bringing the American economy back to the U.S.
Serb professor, publicist, political adviser, analyst, and historian Srdja Trifković outlined five factors that contributed to Trump’s victory.
The first factor, according to Trifković, was his opponent, Kamala Harris, whom he described as a poor choice, calling her candidacy absurd and noting that many Americans felt insulted by the Democratic Party’s choice of such a candidate.
The second reason was minority votes, with Trifković noting, “Trump received 22% of the Black male vote and over 50% of the Latino vote.”
“The third factor is that this time, the Democrats couldn’t engage in fraud because the margin was too large,” Trifković emphasized.
The fourth factor, he explained, was foreign policy management, where “Americans are tired of those leading foreign policy not doing their job.” Joe Biden didn’t address this, nor would Kamala Harris, he added.
“And the fifth factor – this time, Trump had a focused message. He had a clear program and promise: a plan to liberate America from the dictatorship of special interests and postmodern ideology,” Trifković said, adding that in this term, Trump will be free from having to appoint people he had to engage during his first term, whom he called “Trojan horses.”
International relations expert and former diplomat Luciano Kaluža noted that Trump took the campaign for the recent U.S. election seriously, starting with an analysis of the 2020 election.
“The Democrats approached the last presidential campaign with great ease and confidence, assuming victory was assured in America. Trump’s team, however, was well-prepared and engaged, resulting in a convincing victory,” Kaluža said.
He noted that the Democrats failed to win because American society, from the pandemic era to today, has grown weary of the policies led by Biden.
“It’s worth mentioning that Harris was imposed by the Democratic establishment, even though she lacked public support throughout the campaign. We witnessed several of her appearances where she was booed by the public. I stress that the polls showing her in a significant lead were conducted by research houses and media close to her. In such an environment, Kamala stood no chance,” Kaluža stated clearly.
