The players of Zvijezda 09 secured a confident 3-0 victory against the last-placed Velež from Nevesinje, continuing their quest for the autumn title.
After yet another triumph, the head coach of the first-league team from the Stanišići Ethno Village, Bojan Trkuja, had plenty of reasons to be pleased, especially with six starters under 21 years old, and a total of eight young players appearing on the field during the match.
“Our victory was never in doubt. I’m happy we achieved it without major issues. I’m thrilled with how this team shows more potential every day, and I’m confident we have future national team players here. We’re simply growing quickly, day by day, match by match. Sergej Damjanić demonstrated a lot in this match, and we also had two juniors, Nikola Đurić and Petar Đukanović, who will certainly continue to improve. I’m just proud of this young team,” said Trkuja.
He remains unburdened by the pursuit of the autumn title and the prospect of returning to the Premier League at the end of the season.
“There’s no pressure. We go into every game with a desire to compete. Of course, if an opportunity arises, we’ll seize it with both hands,” Trkuja continued.
He also noted that it’s too early to discuss whether the club will bring in some experienced players over the winter.
“We’ll sit down in January and decide then. If we choose to fight for the top spot, we’ll certainly work on bringing a few experienced players into this young team,” Trkuja added.
