“Dučić’s Poetry Evenings,” the traditional cultural event dedicated to the great Serb poet Jovan Dučić, begins today in Trebinje.
Poets Branko Stevanović, Dejan Aleksić, and Biljana Ristić will meet with elementary students at 10:30 AM at “Jovan Jovanović Zmaj” School, at 11:30 AM at “Sveti Vasilije Ostroški” School, and at 12:30 PM at “Vuk Karadžić” School. A meeting with high school students at “Jovan Dučić” Gymnasium is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
The director of the Herzegovina Museum in Trebinje, Ivana Grujić, highlighted that an exhibition by Nadežda Petrović from the National Museum of Serbia will be held at the museum tonight at 7:30 PM to mark the 150th anniversary of the renowned artist’s birth. She noted that this exhibition is being showcased outside Serbia for the first time.
A literary-poetic evening titled “And the Bell Toll Rings” will commemorate the 100th anniversary of Alekse Šantić’s passing and is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
Tomorrow, at 10:00 AM, flowers will be laid at the monuments of Dučić and Njegoš.
A panel titled “A Few More Words on the Language of My People” will take place at the National Library at 11:00 AM, and the ceremonial academy “At the Prince’s Ball” is scheduled for 8:00 PM at the Cultural Center.
On Sunday, November 3, at 11:00 AM, the National Library will host the promotion of “Literary News,” a magazine of the Association of Writers of Serbia, and a poetry evening titled “On Dučić’s Path” is planned for 6:00 PM in the Cultural Center’s theater hall.
The sponsors of “Dučić’s Poetry Evenings” are the City of Trebinje and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska.
