The Minister for European Integration and International Cooperation of Republika Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, stated that he will continue to insist that the chief negotiator for BiH with the EU be from Republika Srpska.
Following the initiative of the Chair of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, to accelerate activities aimed at establishing the office of the chief negotiator for BiH in the process of forming the negotiating structure, for the purposes of explanatory meetings on EU legal heritage, Klokić emphasized that without Republika Srpska, there is no European path for BiH.
He added that this should be clear to everyone, including Krišto, stressing that Republika Srpska will never give up the position that it must be visibly recognized on this path.
- Having the chief EU negotiator be someone from Republika Srpska is certainly a form of assurance that we will succeed in these efforts, which is why we will continue to insist that this position be ours – Klokić told Glas Srpske.
According to him, Republika Srpska has never been and will never be a conflicting party.
He stated that he will continue to demand that all decisions be made through the agreed coordination mechanism, respecting the rights of Republika Srpska, the letter of Dayton, and the Constitution of BiH.
