Regarding the recent terrorist attack in Bosanska Krupa, not a single official or politician from the Federation of BiH has spoken up, which reflects the kind of society we live in and implies that Serbs are unwelcome in the other entity, said Radovan Višković, Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, today.
Višković emphasized that the attack, in which, as he stated, a minor killed a police officer of Serb nationality, was classified as a terrorist act by the Prosecutor’s Office of Central Bosnia Canton.
“However, no one in the other entity has questioned the reasons why a minor killed a Serb police officer. Is this a message to Serbs that they are unwelcome in the other entity? They have no problem commenting on food prices in Srpska, but when a terrorist act occurs, there’s no statement at all,” Višković said at a press conference following the court proceedings involving President Milorad Dodik.
He questioned what the reaction would have been if the situation had been reversed—that is, if a Serb minor had killed a Bosniak police officer in a police station in Srpska.
“I believe that the UN Security Council would immediately convene, NATO would be on high alert, and all embassies would be proclaiming that security is at risk,” Višković remarked.
He added that the same court where they were present today had acquitted the instigators and accomplices in this terrorist attack.
“They say, the person was a minor, so they won’t face charges. But what about their parents—why aren’t they being held accountable? Does this mean that any minor can do whatever they want without anyone being responsible for it?” Višković questioned.
The Prime Minister of Srpska also invoked the well-known phrase by Ivo Andrić: “where reason ends, BiH begins,” indicating that such a BiH is not desirable for any of the three constituent peoples.
“Bošnjaks are under the greatest illusion that they need this kind of BiH. We, in Srpska, appeal for an organized society that aligns with the Constitution and the Dayton Agreement, and if you want that kind of country, we are here,” Višković concluded.
