President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated today that any verdict in his case before the Court of BiH, other than an acquittal, would constitute a political decision.
“Those pushing this case are not only politically motivated but legally illiterate. Legally, the verdict can only be an acquittal or the case can be dismissed, but politically, they could decide otherwise. Any decision other than declaring this case legally invalid and inadmissible, with no grounds for responsibility, would be a political decision,” Dodik emphasized, reminding that he is charged for fulfilling his constitutional duties.
Dodik expressed his confidence in an acquittal, adding that claims from the Federation of BiH regarding his alleged pressure on the court are baseless.
The President of Srpska thanked everyone who gathered in front of the Court of BiH today to show support for him and Acting Director of the Official Gazette, Miloš Lukić.
Today, a hearing was held at the Court of BiH for President Milorad Dodik and Acting Director of the Official Gazette, Miloš Lukić.
The presentation of the Prosecutor’s Office’s material evidence will continue on November 13, as the President requested that all evidence and documents be provided in Serbian and in Cyrillic script.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH submitted certain material evidence, primarily correspondence with the Office of the High Representative (OHR). The defense objected, pointing out that the OHR is not a signatory to the Dayton Agreement and that matters concerning the BiH Constitution cannot be referred to the OHR.
