A Korean traveled 6,000 kilometers to visit Mauzer’s grave

“There were heroes, there are, and there will be,” is one of the verses that marked the wartime path of Bijeljina’s “Panther Guard.” These heroes, led by Ljubiša Savić Mauzer, are still remembered, nearly three decades later, not just in our region.

Their famous fight for the freedom of the Serb people is retold even in South Korea among students. One of them, Dujang Hyun, a history student from Seoul, in honor of Mauzer and his comrades, traveled a remarkable 6,000 kilometers to pay his respects to the fallen members of one of the most honorable units of the VRS.

He came to Bijeljina to visit the grave of Ljubiša Savić Mauzer, the Veterans Association of the Panther Guard, and the memorial room dedicated to all the fallen soldiers of the VRS from Semberija.
