President of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, stated that the process against the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the Official Gazette, Miloš Lukić, cannot be concluded lawfully because it is based on incorrect assumptions.
Stevandić noted that those who initiated the proceedings believed that the President of the Republika Srpska would yield under pressure and agree to some form of negotiation, which would end in political blackmail.
“They were so certain of this that the legal acts behind the indictment were so shaky that they are now trying to conceal them by introducing verbal offenses,” he said.
Since Dodik refused to submit to blackmail and remained steadfast in protecting his constitutional function and all institutions of the Republika Srpska, Stevandić mentioned that the process is now being rendered absurd, attempting to hide the fact that Schmidt has no legal authority or legitimacy.
“The fig leaf covering that appointment is being preserved. It’s comparable to this: if someone operated on a patient without a medical degree, they would be judged on what the doctor did wrong, without questioning whether he was even a doctor. If we compare that to Schmidt, he must first show that he lacks a diploma, and without that diploma, the operation cannot succeed,” Stevandić explained.
He emphasized that there is political unity among the people and that this process has not succeeded in breaking Dodik’s backbone.
“It is probably the trial of the century if we compare it to 1915 and the Great Betrayal trial that was conducted against Serbs in Zagreb, which had many more legal elements than this one today, which has none. We are now sure that those who previously accelerated it are now beginning to delay it, fearing their own shame,” Stevandić stated.
Stevandić also mentioned that the judge in this case is acting under pressure and is attempting to cover up the unsubstantiated evidence from the Prosecutor’s Office.
As a reminder, a hearing was held today at the Court of BiH for the President of the Republika Srpska and the acting director of the Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska.
