Dodik: No Balkan country has made significant progress towards the EU

In the ten years of the Berlin Process, no country from the Balkans has made significant progress toward the EU, nor does it seem likely to happen in the next five years, said Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik in an interview with RTRS.

He emphasized that nothing concrete has occurred over the past decade.

“Now, it all boils down to some talk about allowing BiH to permit entry from Kosovo* with ID cards,” Dodik stated.

He underscored that BiH has not recognized Kosovo and cannot accept any discourse other than official relations with Serbia based on that fact.

  • “Those who want to come here can do so with documents issued by the Republic of Serbia, and that is not a problem. However, we have seen that there are pressures from the Berlin Process of this nature, which cannot be resolved until BiH recognizes Kosovo*—if it ever does,” Dodik added.

To recall, a Berlin Process Summit will be held tomorrow in Berlin, with representatives from the Western Balkans and the European Union participating.
