Slobodan Župljanin, Dean of the Faculty of Security and Protection at the Independent University of Banja Luka, stated that the claims made by the Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez, regarding the alleged production of drones in BiH, amount to classic manipulation and public deception aimed at raising tensions, intensifying war-mongering rhetoric, and directing toxic accusations toward Republika Srpska.
- “Available data show that what Minister Helez is trying to present as a drone produced in BiH is a blatant falsehood, as multiple sources confirm that these are imported drones from China, intended to demonstrate the possibility of producing similar ones,” Župljanin told Srna.
He pointed out that Helez has yet to answer the public’s questions regarding the whereabouts of the drones he announced, where exactly they are being produced in BiH, for whom they are intended, whether there are contracts with partners, and under whose authorization and approval they are being manufactured.
- “Helez’s manipulations and deceptions will not scare anyone in Republika Srpska, but it is certain that the relevant institutions in Republika Srpska will closely monitor all challenges, risks, and threats, regardless of their origin or source,” Župljanin emphasized.
According to him, it is regrettable that such significant falsehoods and dirty insinuations come from those who should be most concerned about the safety of all citizens in BiH, including Serbs and the Serb people in Republika Srpska.
Župljanin reminded that Helez has frequently misled the domestic public in the past with various information of different nature and origin.
- “The purpose of all these deceptions and manipulations has been to increase tensions, strengthen war-mongering rhetoric, and fire toxic accusations at Republika Srpska and its government officials. The ultimate goal has been to create fear and panic among the Serb people and turn them against their leadership,” Župljanin concluded.
Yesterday, the portal Kliks reported that the drones recently presented at the Zenica Economic Fair as products of the Center for Technical Technological Testing from Sarajevo were imported from China and have no connection with BiH.
Minister of Defense Zukan Helez denied this information, claiming that BiH produces its own drones at five locations, and that this is no secret, but he did not specify the locations where production takes place.
