The Center for the Environment has scheduled a forest walk for October 5, 2024, at 12:30 PM, inviting children, parents, and even older participants to explore the mysterious world of Banja Luka’s forests.
We will gather at the gatehouse with the barrier at Banj brdo (Šehitluci), from where the forest walk will commence.
- The path is not demanding and is suitable for everyone. The route is about 6 kilometers long, and the entire walk, with breaks, will last approximately 3 hours. During the walk, we will take several short breaks, the Center for the Environment announced.
The walk will be led by Nikola Pećanac, a master of forestry, our friend, and a creative guide. Through creative examples, he will teach us a lot about the forests surrounding our city and how to navigate in nature.
If you wish to join the forest walk, please let us know by October 4, 2024, no later than 4:00 PM, via email at anja.dragomirovic@czzs.org or through the Center for the Environment’s Facebook inbox. Minors can participate only if accompanied by an adult or with written consent from their parent/guardian.
All brave children who join us for the adventure through Banja Luka’s forests will be rewarded with a special gift – a coloring book titled The Secret World of Banja Luka’s Forests.
We remind you that the Center for the Environment has submitted an initiative to declare the forests around Banja Luka a protected area and is working on a conservation study. This is just one of the activities aimed at introducing citizens to their forests and highlighting the importance of forests for a healthy environment.
