Predrag Kožul, head of the HDZ-HNS parliamentary group in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated that everything in Bosnia and Herzegovina would be easier if key political actors accepted the Dayton Constitution as a fact, and the concept of the constituent peoples as the central constitutional principle.
“Finding compromises, followed by reaching consensus on key issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a prerequisite for the survival, stability, and development of the country,” Kožul told “Večernji List”, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s edition.
Kožul believes that the issue of electing delegates to the House of Peoples of the Federation Parliament and the election of the members of the BiH Presidency should be resolved by the end of 2025.
According to him, in previous discussions, they were close to a solution, but due to irrational fears of their Bosniak political partners, a final agreement was not reached.
“I would say that within the Bosniak political body, the issue is not about willingness but about having the political strength to overcome those fears,” Kožul assessed.
