President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that the new hospital “St. Apostle Luke” in Doboj was built thanks to cooperation with China and the “Belt and Road” policy of President Xi Jinping.
- Once we understood the scope, we did not hesitate to engage Chinese companies for collaboration. I recall our early visits to this company /China Sinopharm International Corporation/ and the agreement to move forward. Today, I can say that behind us stands a facility built to top standards – Dodik emphasized during the ceremonial opening of the new Doboj hospital.
He also pointed out that the policy of the Chinese president enabled not only the construction of this hospital but also the Stanari Thermal Power Plant, as the first project from the “Belt and Road” initiative.
- I am proud of the fact that I had the opportunity to lead a strong and powerful team in Republika Srpska and to demonstrate the ability to realize projects that are typically undertaken by mighty and strong nations – Dodik said, highlighting the excellent cooperation with Chinese companies.
Dodik pointed out that many more projects lie ahead for Republika Srpska, including the construction of a hospital in Trebinje and the modernization and reconstruction of the hospital in Prijedor, along with organizing the healthcare sector that will serve medicine in all renovated and modernized facilities.
- That is why we will organize professional visits in the coming period, and /Director of the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia/ Danica Grujičić has agreed for me to be her point of support in handling that part of the work in Srpska – Dodik emphasized.
He underlined that building a hospital is an achievement, reminding everyone that 104 million KM were invested during tough and challenging times.
- In the perception of some, Republika Srpska was not envisioned to survive. It only exists due to the love you carry and pass on to us. I can say that Srpska’s destiny depends on us. We must not make mistakes when we commit ourselves to the path and project called Republika Srpska. Srpska has outlived some other countries in this region. It was created to be permanent because it is loved, and it serves as a framework for our freedom – said Dodik.
He emphasized that without Republika Srpska, there is no freedom for the Serb people, and no one should feel bad about that because Srpska is the state of the Serb people and all those who live in it.
- We are connected with Serbia, and that should not be seen as heresy or a problem. It is natural and normal. We have not managed to establish functional relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. That only meant less Republika Srpska, which we did not allow – Dodik concluded.
