The European Union has initiated accession negotiations with Albania, North Macedonia, Ukraine, and Moldova, and Bosnia and Herzegovina could be next in line, stated European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
“This strategic reasoning has prompted us to rethink our enlargement strategies and come up with the idea of gradual integration,” said von der Leyen.
She added that later this month, the six Western Balkan partners will adopt their completely new reform agendas, which are linked to six billion euros in European investments.
