The Mayor of East Sarajevo, Ljubiša Ćosić, stated that there is no criminal liability in the case being pursued by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the Official Gazette, Miloš Lukić.
- There are no grounds for the charges being brought against Dodik and Lukić. It would be commendable if the judges had the courage to declare that they will not engage in politically motivated trials. If the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina acted in this manner, public trust in this institution would increase – Ćosić said in an interview with RTRS.
He noted that today’s hearing is one in a series where the Prosecutor’s Office is attempting to fabricate a case that doesn’t exist.
- It’s clear that the prosecutorial team lacks a substantial case, and all the evidence they present actually supports Dodik, who, in his role as president, acted in accordance with the Constitution and the law and respected the decisions of the National Assembly – Ćosić emphasized.
He reiterated that the case against Dodik and Lukić is politically motivated, and the indictment is baseless.
- The longer this trial continues, the more it becomes evident that the case is non-existent. This is a political trial against the institution of the president, with the aim of banning Dodik from political activities – Ćosić pointed out.
Ćosić added that he would be present at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today to show support for the President of Republika Srpska.
- Republika Srpska is defending Dodik as the president, defending the institution of the presidency – Ćosić concluded.
