The 18th Economy and Tourism Fair was officially opened in Derventa. During the opening ceremony, the Minister of Trade and Tourism, Denis Šulić, highlighted that Derventa, given its number of businesses, employment rates, and exports, holds the title of the best city in Srpska capable of organizing such an event.
- “Numerous indicators speak to this – from the number of registered businesses, various foreign companies, to the maximum employment rate. I am pleased that for 18 years, Derventa has been organizing the Economy and Tourism Fair, aiming to connect the economic and tourism offerings not only of this city but of the entire region and all of Republika Srpska,” said Šulić.
He emphasized that this fair is recognized among businesspeople as a place where they can establish additional contacts and expand their operations.
Derventa’s Mayor, Milorad Simić, noted the importance of the fair’s continuity and the return of exhibitors, which confirms its value.
- “Derventa has 901 business organizations, 216 large enterprises, 570 craft shops, 113 agricultural producers operating as farms, and we have the highest concentration of foreign capital – 33 foreign companies,” Simić mentioned.
He added that in the future, there should be consideration of changing the fair’s name, as it now includes agricultural producers and home-based businesses among the exhibitors.
The fair has attracted more than a hundred exhibitors from Republika Srpska, the Federation of BiH, and the region.
The event runs from August 21 to 23.
A new feature of this year’s fair is the inclusion of rich content for children.
