This year’s art gathering in Novi Grad was officially launched with the opening of an exhibition featuring works created during last year’s “Rakani” Art Colony in the gallery in Novi Grad.
Mirjana Drljača, the documentarian of the Novi Grad gallery, said that until August 19, new artworks will be created by Ana Đapović from Belgrade, Miroslav Živković from Niš, Olivera Šipka and Maja Šolak from Banja Luka, Marija Dobrijević and Aleksa Milić from Prijedor, Mario Ignjić from Teslić, Ognjen Tepavčević from Gradiška, and Sanja Stupar and Dragana Babić from Novi Grad.
“They will create their works over the next seven days in an inspiring and beautiful location. This colony has been running for four decades, and I expect this year’s results to be equally successful,” she said.
Deputy Mayor Bojan Lukač stated that the “Rakani” Art Colony is one of the most significant cultural events in the municipality.
“The Art Colony is a great treasure of Novi Grad. It is characterized by creativity and the personal expression of the artists. All participants will express their emotions through the works they create,” Lukač said.
He added that he expects the artists’ stay in Novi Grad to be a source of inspiration.
