The footballers of Sloga will have their season debut today at 17:30 on the “Luke” stadium, when they will host Sarajevo in the second round of the Premier League.
Due to Zrinjski’s participation in international competitions, Dobojlije had to wait to see how prepared their team is for the challenges ahead. The head coach of Sloga, Vlado Jagodić, is eager for the start of the match against the team from “Koševo.”
“After a long time, we will finally be the hosts at our ‘Luke’ stadium, which has been completely renovated, and I hope that with the support of a large number of spectators, we can achieve success in this match. I can’t help but once again thank everyone who supported us while we were hosting in Modriča, but this is something completely different because we are finally playing at our own stadium,” emphasized Jagodić.
The lack of competitive matches is the main concern for the experienced coach.
“This second round is our first. We haven’t had the chance to play a competitive match, which gives Sarajevo an advantage since they have already played five, four of which were in Europe. With their new coach Zoran Zekić, they play significantly differently than before. Although I’m not looking for any excuses, it’s important to remember that our match with Zrinjski was postponed last week, leaving us without a game. What makes me happy is that I have all the players available. Our captain, Milan Milanović, has recovered from his injury, but we’ll see if he’ll start. The situation is similar with Dejan Vidić, who has had a longer break,” Jagodić added.
Captain Milan Milanović expressed that the team is eager to step onto the “Luke” field.
“I expect a great atmosphere in the stands, and strong support from our fans will definitely help us deliver a good performance and achieve a favorable result,” said Milanović.
Results of the second round: Velež – Željezničar 1:2 (Mlinarić 53 – Odinaka 73, Boljević 85), Sloboda – Posušje 0:2 (Jenjić 37, Rozić 48), Radnik – Široki Brijeg played last night, GOŠK – Zrinjski played last night, Igman – Borac postponed.
Pairings for the third round, scheduled for August 17 and 18: Zrinjski – Radnik, Sarajevo – GOŠK, Posušje – Sloga, Borac – Sloboda, Željezničar – Igman, Široki Brijeg – Velež.
