Memorial festival “Ša Fest” in Prijedor next week

The festival is dedicated to the late academic painter and rock musician Dalibor Popović Mikša from Prijedor.

A portion of the festival’s proceeds is intended to support young, talented artists.

The fifth “Ša Fest” begins on Wednesday and runs until Saturday. The musical lineup includes performances by “Dubioza Kolektiv,” “Partibrejkers,” Rambo Amadeus, and “Artan Lili,” among others. Bojan Slačala, the singer and bassist of Belgrade’s “Artan Lili,” is originally from Prijedor and grew up with Mikša.

“The festival itself is a memorial event in memory of our friend Mikša, and we should never forget why we are all truly here,” said Bojan Slačala, singer and bassist of “Artan Lili.”

“It’s a fantastic feeling for us to play in front of our audience, especially at such a festival, which is perhaps one of the best things that has happened in Prijedor in the last ten years,” added Marko Divjak, singer and guitarist of the Prijedor band “Eho Radar.”

The festival will also feature exhibitions and workshops on music, ecology, film, and art. For the youngest attendees, there will be performances by animators and stars of the Đurđevdan Festival.

“The goal of the festival is to keep the memory of Mikša, his character, and his work alive. Additionally, the festival aims to support young, unestablished artists, as part of the proceeds are directed towards scholarships and co-financing for young artists,” said Martina Stakić, spokesperson for “Ša Fest.”

“This is something that makes our city of Prijedor proud. Considering we don’t even have enough accommodation capacity in the city, everything is booked, and people are even taking their annual leave to come to ‘Ša Fest.’ What else can I say but invite all our fellow citizens and the entire region to come to ‘Ša Fest,'” emphasized Aleksandar Milješić, head of the Department for Culture, International Cooperation, Sports, and NGOs in Prijedor.

“Ša Fest” kicks off on Wednesday with a performance by Rambo Amadeus. The main musical program takes place on Friday and Saturday at the Prijedor Summer Garden and in the park in the Old Town.
