Continuation of the trial against Dodik and Lukić on wednesday

The continuation of the trial against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the Official Gazette, Miloš Lukić, before the Court of BiH will be held on Wednesday, July 17, stated the lawyer for the President of Srpska, Goran Bubić.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.

It was previously announced that the defense would start presenting their evidence at the upcoming hearing, while the BiH Prosecutor’s Office completed presenting its evidence on May 22.

The defense’s proposals to hear Srebrenka Golić, President of the Council of Peoples of Srpska, and Jelena Pajić Baštinac, Secretary General of the President of Republika Srpska, as well as certain material evidence, have been accepted.

The proposal from Lukić’s defense to hear Dalibor Panić, Secretary General of the Government of Srpska, and Boran Bosančić, Secretary General of the National Assembly, has also been accepted.

The defense teams for the President of Srpska and the acting director of the Official Gazette previously announced that they would submit various documents as evidence, including correspondence from the Government of Srpska to the UN Security Council, documents from the sessions of the Council of Peoples of Republika Srpska, a transcript of Dragan Kremenović’s hearing, acts from the 1997 UN Security Council session, and documents from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the District Court in Banja Luka.

At the previous hearing, Judge Sena Uzunović rejected the defense’s proposal to hear Christian Schmidt, the President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, and Michael Gestinger.

After the hearing, Dodik stated that the decision not to call Schmidt as a witness was not made by the presiding judge but by the embassies of the USA, the UK, and Germany, who are protecting the “illegal Schmidt” in an attempt to impose a system they desire.

Dodik emphasized that Schmidt should have appeared before the Court of BiH to clarify the violations against him but claimed that the Court and Prosecutor’s Office protected Schmidt while accusing local individuals.

The hearing scheduled for June 19 was not held due to the illness of a defense witness who was supposed to testify at that time.

The Court of BiH is conducting proceedings against the President of Srpska and the acting director of the Official Gazette for “disrespecting the decisions of Christian Schmidt.”
