LThe football club Rudar Prijedor has started preparations for the new season with a revamped squad, aiming to play a significant role in the First Football League of Republika Srpska.
So far, Almir Bekić and Nikola Njamculović have left the club, with several other players on the verge of exiting.
On the other hand, several new faces appeared at the first training session: Mihajlo Savanović (BSK), Lazar Jovanović (Radnik Surdulica), Amar Tahrić (Sloga Doboj), and Harun Alibegović (Jedinstvo Bihać).
Savanović and Tahrić play in midfield, while Alibegović returns after spending a season in Bihać, playing as a central defender. Lazar Jovanović is an experienced forward who spent the last half-season with Radnik and previously played for Radnički Niš, Sloboda Užice, Borac Čačak, and abroad for Pyunik and Maccabi Reina.
Joel da Silva and Patrick Gbegbe, who were absent with justification, will join the team shortly. Further changes in the squad are expected at Rudar.
“We are in negotiations with two or three more players and are very close to agreements. Additionally, several players who did not meet expectations last year will leave the club after discussions. We are starting our work, we know what we have, and with the new players, we will certainly be much better and more competitive. The players who stayed and those we selected in the previous transfer window have adopted the principles we work by. This is our second transfer window, and it should already look much more serious. The plan is to conduct the first part of the preparations in Prijedor on our fields, after which we plan to head to Zlatibor, but we will talk about that when we have all the details,” said coach Vule Trivunović. The team will head to Zlatibor on July 15, where matches against Smederevo and Grafičar are scheduled.

Mihajlo Marinović, a young defender who played for last season’s champion of the Second League West group, Sloga from Trn, and Davis Vyat, a forward from Canada who played for German teams, are on trial at Rudar Prijedor, trying to secure their place in the team for the upcoming season.
