The Proposal for peaceful dissolution is not a unilateral act

The proposal for a peaceful dissolution in BiH should be considered rationally as it is not a unilateral act by the Serb side, and it is better to separate if an agreement cannot be reached, stated analyst Dragomir Anđelković.

“Republika Srpska has always adhered to the Dayton Agreement and respected the constitutional order, so I understand its proposal as a kind of supplement to Dayton, offering the possibility of dissolution if the constituent peoples cannot agree to live together in any other way,” Anđelković told Srna.

He added that Dayton implies a mode of life that has been constantly violated, and BiH will sink into much greater problems if its violations continue.

“It is better to separate if living in accordance with the agreed terms is impossible. Therefore, I see this as an offer to consider it rationally, not as something that is a unilateral act,” Anđelković said.

President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that the Government and the National Assembly of Republika Srpska will stand behind the document on the peaceful dissolution in BiH, making it an official proposal.

“We will insist that the Federation of BiH express its opinion on this, not only through refusal to accept discussions but to constantly see what their proposals are. If they propose the disappearance of Republika Srpska, that is not an option,” Dodik wrote on the social network X.
