In the document on the peaceful separation from the Federation of BiH, nothing beyond what is contained in the Dayton Peace Agreement has been requested, stated Professor of International Law Željko Budimir.

Budimir noted that “in these difficult circumstances, Srpska offers the FBiH government a political way out of this crisis.”

“If you attack us every day and try to undermine the competencies of Srpska, and thereby its institutions and stability, what can you expect? Srpska can only seek a political and legal way to exit from this community that daily confirms it does not wish well for Srpska. So, what is in the agreement is in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement, and that is what needs to be emphasized. We have not asked for anything beyond that,” Budimir stressed.

Budimir reiterated that “Srpska is a signatory to that agreement, which means that if it could conclude it as a party, it can also offer such an agreement.”

“We will see how political Sarajevo will react. However, this small-town politics has so far shown no understanding for anything, so we should not have high expectations, but our job is to act,” Budimir said.
