The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska has heightened security measures across the region, particularly in public places, following today’s terrorist attack on the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade, in which a member of the Serbian Gendarmerie was seriously injured.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan, and the Director of the Police of Srpska, Siniša Kostrešević, are in constant communication with Serbia’s Minister of Internal Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister, Ivica Dačić, as well as top officials from the Serbian Police. Although there is no immediate threat of a similar attack in Republika Srpska, a series of preventive measures have been ordered, and cooperation with other police agencies has been intensified to exchange operational information, according to a statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Srpska.

The statement adds that the security situation in Republika Srpska is satisfactory and that citizens have no reason to be concerned. However, the public is urged to report any suspicious activities in their surroundings to the police.
