The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, met today in Banja Luka with a delegation from the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), led by the company’s Director for Central and Southeastern Europe, Yang Dong.
The meeting discussed the reconstruction of a section of the main road Foča-Šćepan Polje and the memorandum recently signed by the Government of Republika Srpska and CRBC.
Višković stated that this section is very important for Republika Srpska and that one of the Government’s priorities is the reconstruction of this main road, which connects Republika Srpska and Montenegro.
He emphasized that Republika Srpska is ready to move to the second phase of implementing the memorandum, aiming to sign the financing and execution contract as soon as possible, allowing the fieldwork to commence.
He noted that a project for the reconstruction of this road has been completed, creating the preconditions for the execution of the works, but it remains to secure the approval of financial resources for the construction as soon as possible.
Yang, General Director of CRBC for Central and Southeastern Europe, stated that his company is intensively negotiating with “Roads of Republika Srpska” to align all details and that CRBC understands the importance of this project for Republika Srpska.
He expressed confidence that all documentation will soon be prepared, enabling workers to begin the fieldwork.
The memorandum plans for the construction of approximately 15 kilometers of the main road Foča-Šćepan Polje, which is about 20 kilometers long. The Government of Republika Srpska has already completed the initial phase of the first five kilometers.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Finance, Zora Vidović, and the Acting Director of “Roads of Republika Srpska,” Milan Dakić.
