Živko Milijaš new president of the Judo Federation of Srpska

Živko Milijaš is the new president of the Judo Federation of Republika Srpska, decided today at an extraordinary assembly of the Federation in Banja Luka, with the support of the new leadership given by world judo champion Nemanja Majdov.

Jasenko Delić was elected as vice president, and Dejan Ćup as general secretary.

Milijaš said that the new leadership was elected because the majority was not satisfied with the work of the previous leadership of the Judo Federation.

“We said ‘stop to crime’ in the Federation due to various manipulations and lack of transparency in the work of the previous leadership, as well as their poor relationship with most clubs and competitors,” Milijaš told reporters in Banja Luka.

World champion Majdov is confident that the new leadership of the Federation will perform much better than their predecessors.

“The goal is to invest in our children, to have a system and a path to success. I have made my way through training to success. We need to invest in the future so that we have ten Olympians tomorrow,” said Majdov.

He added that it is a shame for successful athletes to beg on the streets to secure money for competitions, noting that the Federation exists for the competitors.

Delić said that one of the main goals is for the Federation to start operating legally and in the interest of the competitors.

As he emphasized, the main goal is to have a much more serious financial structure than before and to invest money in the competitors.

Dalibor Simić was elected as president of the Supervisory Board, and the Management Board of the Federation, consisting of 13 members, as well as a sports arbitration panel of five members, was unanimously adopted.

Njegoš Poljaković, president of the Working Presidency of the Assembly, explained that the majority of delegates decided that the current leadership should be dismissed and new bodies elected.
