The “Crankshaft” Auto Club from Banja Luka, in collaboration with SAKSRS, is organizing an international circuit car race from June 21 to 23, 2024, at the Zalužani Autodrome near Banja Luka.
According to Ranko Šunkić, the sports director for circuit car races at the Sports Auto-Carting Association of Republika Srpska (SAKSRS), drivers from the country and the region will compete in races on Saturday and Sunday for the open championships of Serbia and Republika Srpska.
- “We are expecting a total of ten races during the competition weekend, starting on Friday at 1 PM with the first training sessions on the track,” said Šunkić.
Šunkić emphasized that the entry fee to the track is a symbolic five KM, with two entrances: one at the MUP RS Training Center and the other at Lake Bomi.
The race program begins on June 21 at 1 PM with paid training, followed by technical inspections and driver verification until 8 PM.
- “On Saturday, June 22, from 7 AM to 10 AM, we will continue the technical reception of vehicles and driver verification. After this, the first sports commission meeting will begin at 11 AM, followed by a mandatory driver briefing in the hangar at 11:15 AM,” explained Šunkić.
He added that training and qualifications for the first race will start thereafter, followed by the second jury meeting and the start of races for NSŠRB, OPRSB, and OPRS, culminating with the third jury meeting.
- “Sunday is reserved for the ‘Warm-Up’ training from 9 AM to 10 AM. After the training, the qualifications for the second race will begin, followed by the jury meeting. The driver briefing in the PIT LANE will start at 12:55 PM,” Šunkić added.
The races for NSŠRB, OSRB, and OPRS will start at 1:15 PM.
- “Thirty minutes after the race ends, the fifth jury meeting will commence, and 60 minutes after the race concludes, the winners will be announced and awarded trophies and sponsor gifts,” Šunkić noted.
